In our progressively digital world, the lifespan of the catwalk has been called into question. Misha Nonoo is the most recent designer to bypass the traditional fashion show in favour of a more contemporary approach. Taking to social media, Nonoo debuted her SS16 collection through a series of Instagram snaps.
The collection exemplified her “day to play” mentality, which was illustrated through her pairings of utilitarian silhouettes and playful patterns. Nonoo’s sophisticated jumpsuit and palazzo style pants were complemented by the flirty, fun shapes of her skirts and dresses, whilst her use of intricate prints accurately portrayed her artful essence. Crisp colours were injected with a dose of complexity; the red, white and hint of black provided an exquisite canvas for Nonoo to highlight her skilled use of fabrics and designs.
Misha Nonoo’s collection also balanced the notions of womanhood versus girlishness, focusing on tailored pieces, which were paired with effortless hair and make-up. It’s safe to say Misha Nonoo designs are fundamental for the multifaceted women of today.
