NETWORKING IN A DIGITAL AGE: BUMBLE BIZZ #SOCIALCEO SERIES

Networking, by definition, is a process that fosters the exchange of information and ideas among individuals or groups that share a common interest. Considered necessary to grow one’s business, knowledge, customer base, et al, networking is a pivotal part of our everyday life.
Bumble Bizz was created to make this sometimes daunting task as easy as online dating. With the same left and right swipe mechanisms and ‘women make the first move’ rule, female professionals can browse for potential business partners, employers, employees, and more, without being put in an off-setting or misinterpreted situation.

The natural next step for Bumble Bizz was to get everyone together IRL, taking the networking from offline to in person with their #SocialCEO Dinner Series.
Tuesday night a Megu, a trendy Japanese restaurant in New York’s Meatpacking district, a dozen or so influential female businesswomen gathered together to eat, drink and talk. Situated around the table next to someone they could potentially collaborate with, the women were encouraged to share stories about their businesses, their hobbies, their dreams and just themselves overall. These ‘Influencers in Bumble Bizz’ came from all different backgrounds including marketing, fashion, hospitality, and beyond.
The women enjoyed cocktails from Svedka, and took home some impressive swag from Bumble Bizz themselves, lipstick from Winky Lux, candles from Otherland, and perfume from Byredo.
“The industry has been known to honor women in business, and celebrate content creators, but what about highlighting those who are doing both? When creating Bizz, Bumble founder Whitney Wolf Herd decided to borrow the perks of online dating—like geo-targeted matches and left and right swipes—and rework them for the career sphere. Because isn’t finding the right mentor, or investor, every bit as important as finding a love match?”
