New York Fashion Week: Women’s A/W ‘16: Day 2

Rihanna for Fenty x Puma
Day two was chock full of jewel tones, form fitting silhouettes, cut outs and more; it was quite the fulfilling day here at New York Fashion week. Geo and tribal and prints were the motif of the moment.
Despite the frigid temperatures, the catwalk was sizzling! The runways were overwhelmed with lace overlays, deep dark colors, jewel tones, lace and form-fitting pieces. Patterns played a huge part in today’s trends as well; from geo to hounds tooth, to floral (in winter?!) yes, in winter; both all over and in a banded aesthetic arrangement. That “barely there look” is ironically everywhere! From Kylie Jenner at the Kim Shui show, to the runway including; Tadashi Shoji and Yigal Azrouël.
Karigam came out of the gate with rich colors and textures; suede’s and furs. Neutral make up with just a pop of color complimented the profound pieces by way of both silhouettes and hue; the pulled back hair drew the eye to the star of the show, the garments.
Nicole Miller further emphasized the deep, winter floral trends. Fur and winter dresses played a magnificent part in Nicole’s show as well as at large. Looking for a transitional office to cocktails trend; the designers have spoken and chic turtle necks are the leading choice.
The show to talk about though, Fenty X Puma; the Rihanna, Puma collaboration. Sporty chic was the scene; spearheaded by some of fashion’s biggest names; Gigi and Bella Hadid. The scene was a post apocalyptic; black and white theme. The entire collection was true to Rihanna’s style; dark, ominous, yet extremely risqué.
